Credit Card Authorisation
All customers are required to provide a credit card to comply with the terms of our rental agreement. A pre-authorisation to the value of the CDR excess is required from all renters prior to the commencement of their rental. This is to cover costs that may be associated to vehicle damage, petrol, traffic violations and penalties they may incur.
Delivery / Collection Service
We will provide a delivery service from 09:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday at a charge of €2 per km.
Outside these hours, customer will be required to collect from our nearest branch. Special delivery charges to marinas
Glasson, Tullybay, Beleek, Belturbet, Carrick-on-Shannon, Williamstown, Ballinamore, Killeadeas, Lisnairick, Portuma & Banagher all €125 plus VAT
One Way Rentals
Rentals within the R.O.I for five days or less there is a charge. Rentals commencing or terminating from Dublin Airport, Cork Airport or Shannon Airport the fee is €50 plus VAT. Rentals commencing or terminating from any other branch the fee is €80 plus VAT. Rentals within the R.O.I for six days or more there is no charge. Rentals commencing from any branch in the Republic of Ireland terminating at Belfast International Airport (BFS) or Belfast City Airport (BHD) will incur a charge of €180.00 plus VAT regardless of the length of rental.
Out of hours fee Out of hours fee (late fee) will be charged at €50 plus VAT.
Valet charge If a vehicle is deemed to require an extensive valet by our staff (upholstery and carpet shampoo) there will be an additional charge depending on the extend of the cleaning required. This amount can vary between €50 - €150 depending on the cleaning required.
Insurances Collision Damage Reduction (CDR) - reduces renter's damage excess liability to the following amounts
Groups EBMN, EDMN, CDMN, IDMR, EDAN, CDAN, IDAR, IWMN = €1200
Groups FDMR, FDAR, SVMN, SVAN & FFMR = €1900
Groups FCAR, PCAR & LVMN = €3500

Theft Protection (TP) - reduces the renters liability in case of theft to the following amounts.
Groups EBMN, EDMN, CDMN, IDMR, EDAN, CDAN, IDAR, IWMN = €1200
Groups FDMR, FDAR, SVMN, SVAN & FFMR = €1900
Groups FCAR, PCAR & LVMN = €3500

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) - PAI provides personal accident cover for the driver of the rental vehicle.
This insurance is optional costs.
Damage Excess Insurance (DEI) This optional insurance reduces excess to €195(plus VAT) on all car groups. Prices are quoted at the time of booking. Tyres, wheels, wing mirrors, keys & towing charges are not covered.

Declining 353 car rental's CDR cover To decline CDR cover the customer must have written proof that their credit card has relevant cover while driving in Ireland. If a relevant letter is not produced at the time of the commencement of the rental, then CDR cover must be purchased.
Customers using their credit card as CDR cover All customers presenting their credit card as CDR cover, must produce a letter from their bank stating
a) The bank will cover the damage to the rental car up to the full value
b) The bank's CDR cover policy is applicable for car rental in Ireland
c) Under the Irish Road Traffic Act, Third Party Insurance is mandatory and must provide unlimited cover for third parties. The credit card's CDR policy does not extend insurance cover to third parties. To comply with the State's Road Traffic Act, it is mandatory for all driver's of our rental vehicles to provide third party insurance cover. This insurance is available for sale at all our branch offices. Premium Location charge There is a charge for pick-ups at airport and downtown locations.
Vehicle Licence Fee (VLF) This compulsory daily charge is applied to your rental charges at the time of booking.
Additional Driver If you want to nominate a second person to drive your vehicle, you can buy this option for an additional daily charge, which is quote at the time of booking.
Grace Period A one hour grace period will be provided at the end of each rental, after this a further days rental will be charged.
Child Seat/Booster seat These must be booked in advance as supply is limited. Please note, we do not supply rear facing infant seats. Licence Requirements A valid drivers licence must be presented when picking up your rental car. Drivers must have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years, issued in their country of residence and must have at least 2 years continuous driving experience immediately prior to the rental. Failure to adhere to to this condition will result in the insurance being null and void. International drivers licence is not required.
Payment policy Cash Payment is not accepted. Acceptable credit cards are VISA, Diners, Mastercard and Amex.Travellers cheques and EURcheques are not accepted.
Credit Card Transaction Fee A credit card transaction fee of €10 is applicable for the purchase of any product or service paid by credit card.
Extension of Rental / Updates Where the customer requires the vehicle for a longer period than the agreed rental period, the customer must notify us at least two hours prior to the termination of the agreed rental period. If 353 car rental require termination of the vehicle, the customer will be liable for all costs incurred by 353 car rental as a result of termination. 353 car rental reserves the right, in the event of such failure of notification to use whatever means it may choose to recover vehicle.
Condition of vehicle upon delivery All vehicles supplied will be prepared to National / 353 Car Rental Ready for Rent standard set out in the pre-rental checklist. All vehicle damage will be noted on the damage report prior to rental. It is the responibility of the renter to report any additional damage which has not been recorded on the damage report document prior to the commencement of their rental.
Condition of vehicle upon return 353 Car Rental require the vehicle to be returned (normal wear and tear exception) in the same condition as when rented. Normal wear and tear is defined as that wear on the mechanical and electronic components (including tyres) which is caused by normal every day driving.
Fuel Policy
Fuel is paid on commencement of rental. This is a mandatory requirement regardless of the fuel option the renter selects.
Option A: Your rental vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel at a discounted price. This is paid at the commencement of your rental. Your rental vehicle should be returned with an empty fuel tank. There is no refund for partial fuel tanks. Option B: Your rental vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel. This is paid at the commencement of your rental. You are required to return your rental vehicle with a full fuel tank. A fuel receipt is required as proof of fuel purchase within 5kms of our terminating rental station. In cases where your rental vehicle is not returned with a full fuel tank, or a fuel receipt is not produced you will be charged for a full tank of fuel.
Administration Charges The renter is responsible for all penalties incurred relating to traffic offences - parking tickets, clamping fines, compound charges, speeding fines and also the provision of documentation relating to accidents. In cases where the renter has purchased additional insurance from their reservation agent to cover the supplier's CDR excess and in the event of an accident where we are required to collect the CDR excess, it is the responibility of the renter to provide all relevant documentation to their reservation agent or insurer to recover their CDR excess amount. If the renter fails to pay fines, penalties or requests the supplier to colate accident documentation we will charge an administration fee of €50 plus VAT.
Age Limits 23 - 74 years There is an underage surcharge of €10 (plus VAT) for drivers aged between 23-26.
Drivers from the age of 23 until their 28th birthday are resricted to driving cars of 1400cc or less- Groups EBMN,
EDMN, CDMN, EDAN & CDAN. The minimum age for Minibuses and executive cars is 30 years. Holders of Irish, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Israeli lincences the minimum age limit is 28 years. Accidents In the event of a traffic accident, the renter must advise a representative immediately giving full details of the incident. The renter must not admit liability for the accident to any third party. In cases where there is property damage to the rental vehicle or third party vehicle the provision of a replacement car is entirely at the discretion of the supplier's car rental and their insurer. Where a replacement car is provided a daily insurance rate of €25 (plus VAT) is applicable. Where a decision is taken not to provide a replacement car, there is no refund for the unexpired portion of the rental. Towing charges are not covered in CDR excess.
Towing Charges In cases where our rental vehicle is immobilised during the rental period, towing charges are payable by the renter.
Property The customer acknowledges that any property left in the rental vehicle is at their own risk and that 353 Car Rental has no such responsibility for such property.
Key Charge Where keys to vehicles supplied by the supplier are lost whilst vehicle is on rent, a charge of €190.00 will apply for replacement key, plus recovery costs where applicable.
All charges are subject to VAT, currently 13.5% (excluding fuel, which is VAT inclusive).

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
